December Global Giving Campaign
For those of you who follow our blog, you know that October has been a busy month in Liberia for everyday gandhis. We are currently supporting a dozen clinics in Monrovia and Voinjama and two private nurses treating from their homes, supplying them with infrared thermometers, sanitation supplies and surgical gloves. We will be adding four more clinics in early November as well as continuing to supply sanitation materials to ten public restrooms in crowded Monrovia neighborhoods. This means that people can get treated locally for non-Ebola illnesses, thus preventing exposure to Ebola and freeing beds in treatment centers, while building health and resilience.
Check out previous posts for detailed reports from our family in Liberia and their continued efforts to strengthen local health care, improve sanitation and to prepare for the looming threat of food shortages by expanding our permaculture farms.
In order to continue this important work, we will be launching a month-long
campaign beginning December 1st through the website Global Giving.
To maintain a permanent space on the site, and to receive its full philanthropic benefits, we need to raise $5,000 from 40 unique donors by December 31st.
Our campaign will feature specific and targeted ways to donate to our Ebola related work. Mark your calendars and consider making a donation, large or small, during this season of giving as we reflect on our blessings and offer our fortune to those in need.
