2012 is upon us and brings with it a new year full of restoration and partnerships. We are excited to share with you that everyday gandhis will be releasing our new documentary film, The Fight to Forgive, which will be traveling on an international screening tour promoting transformation, dialogue, and above all, hope.
The Fight to Forgive is the story of the healing journey of six young men from Liberia, West Africa, who were forced to either fight as child soldiers or flee that country’s brutal civil war. Today, they call themselves the Future Guardians of Peace. Through photography and community outreach activities, these young adults are rediscovering themselves and reconnecting with their communities. As grassroots peacebuilders, they are organizing soccer games for peace, environmental clean-up campaigns, and peer mentoring workshops dedicated to building healthy, peaceful relationships. By sharing their personal stories, their reflections, anguish and hopes, they are transforming themselves and their communities.
Our goal is to share these stories with a worldwide network of people, programs, and organizations that also work to build peace in a world increasingly filled with war. We believe that the film The Fight to Forgive and its accompanying photography exhibit Future Guardians of Peace will touch lives and inspire further teachings of peace and reconciliation.
